TACTILE PAVING

Surface mounted tactile paving provides guidance & warning for visually impaired persons.

The Department for Transport and Building Regulations place requirements on local authorities and duty holders to provide tactile guidance/warning surfaces for visually impaired persons in public areas and access to buildings & transport facilities.

Surface mounted tactile paving systems offer significant advantages over traditionally used concrete materials in both longevity and cost of installation. They provide a fast, easy and economical solution to achieve compliance with the Equality Act 2010.

With no excavation required, installation takes a fraction of the time it would to lay concrete pavers. Tests have shown the tiles are significantly harder wearing (up to 7 times) and crucially, as they remain permanently flexible, are not subject to freeze/thaw fracturing and spalling.

The full range of tiles is offered in a polyurethane resin/stone composite (incorporating recycled material). Blister Platform Edge Off-Street and Corduroy versions are also available in corrosion resistant GRP (incorporating refined aluminium oxide granules).

Both types display extreme durability & have a slip resistant finish.
